School Kindness Workshop Success With Lottery Funding
Our School of Kindness, which reaches almost 4000 children every year, will be able to continue spreading kindness far and wide thanks to almost £10,000 in funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.

We run free Kindness Workshops in primary schools all over the country with children aged 6-11. The workshops aim to empower children by helping them to realise that the little choices they make every day have the power to change lives, bring people together, build strong communities and ultimately change the world.

As well as teaching children about the physical, social and emotional benefits of kindness, the workshops also have a practical element. In each school, we use a real-life case study of a child somewhere going through a difficult time (whether it be because of bullying, an illness or other challenging circumstance) and the children work together on the day to make cards, video messages or small gifts for that child. Those messages and gifts are delivered to that child, and their response is fed back to the children at the school, so they can see the difference their small kind act has made to someone’s life.

“Kindness is a crucial factor in building strong, healthy communities. It is scientifically proven to have a positive effect on the mental health and well-being not just of those in the receiving end of kindness, but also those who show kindness – or even those who witness kindness,” said Jaime, founder of 52 Lives and the School of Kindness. “Through our School Kindness Workshops, we are helping to show children from a very young age just how powerful a tool kindness can be. And the response we get is incredible.”  Community Fund logo

“We are so grateful for the support of the National Lottery Community Fund. We have had such high demand from schools for our Kindness Workshops, and thanks to this funding we will be able to continue to work with as many children as possible.”
