We are very excited to announce that Hadnall CE Primary School has been named one of only TWO runners-up for the national Kind School Award!
Hadnall is a school where kindness really is part of the everyday. Whether it’s through CalmBrain sessions to support emotional wellbeing, weekly kindness nominations, or pupil-led assemblies on friendship and compassion – kindness runs through every part of the day.
They have a dedicated team of Kindness Ambassadors who help to ensure that the school’s kindness goes far beyond the classroom too. Pupils regularly visit their local nursing home to read, sing and laugh with residents. They’ve completed beach cleans, written cards to neighbours, supported local and national charities, taken action to protect the planet with their eco group and have even launched a pupil-led careers fair focused on ethical jobs.
In the 2025 Great Big Live Assembly for Children’s Mental Health Week, the children were invited to submit a question about mental health. They chose to ask whether kindness should be measured and given the same importance as the subjects assessed in the SATs? Absolutely fantastic.
And the impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. In their recent Ofsted report, Hadnall was described as “a school with kindness at its heart” – something the whole school community celebrated with ice creams on the field!
“Our school is full of love and everyone is kind. It makes it feel like a big family.” – Year 2 pupil
“When something goes wrong, we talk about it and find a kind way forward.” – Year 4 pupil
“Kindness is everywhere here – even the teachers start meetings with something inspiring to lift us up.” – Staff member
Congratulations Hadnall for this well-deserved award.
