The amazing children at Uphill Village Academy, Weston-Super-Mare, are so kind that they’ve made it onto the front page of the paper!

Uphill has worked with the School of Kindness over the last year, and it’s had a big impact on their school culture. The school is now accredited as a Kindness Ambassador School!

Lucy de Scossa, the learning mentor who led the kindness project at Uphill, said, “we have noticed a positive change in our school since starting the 52 Lives program and look forward to expanding our kindness pledges next year!”

Uphill took part in online networks with other schools across the country, sharing the best ways to promote kindness.

The school embedded a culture of kindness in a number of other amazing ways, including:

  • Producing pledges and certificates, acknowleding and celebrating acts of kindness in the school.
  • Introducing a kindness bench, managed by Kindness Ambassadors, which provides a dedicated space for students to give and receive kindness.
  • Displaying posters and kindness boards, providing reminders and suggestions for kindness in the school.

Lucy also said that “seeing the ambassadors shine with pride is a joy, they take great pleasure in sharing their kindness across the school. Kindness is a role model that everyone can share.”
