In September, children all over the country took part in our Recycling Week Challenge, completing an activity each day to be kinder to the planet – and we are very excited to announce that two amazing brothers, Oliver and Reuben, are the joint winners!
Oliver (age 10) and Reuben (age 4) came up with some amazing ideas to reduce waste and recycle more. Including:
🖍 Using moulds to turning old, broken crayons into new ones (and donating them to a local charity).
♻️ Creating a robot (called Robbie) out of rubbish.
👖 Learning how to mend hems for the second hand uniform shop, to make sure clothes can be worn for longer.
🍪 Making biscuits out of ingredients they bought from the local refill shop.
We were so impressed by their commitment and creativity – well done Oliver and Reuben! You are very deserving winners.
Oliver and Rueben will receive their choice of a toy from an eco-toy range PLUS a Buddy Bench for their school.
The boys’ mum said: “It’s very fitting that the bench is made from recycled materials, as Oliver helped set up the recycling scheme at school – so it’s lovely to see something made from recycled materials being returned as something useful for the kids.”
