What they did: Created their own Kindness Advent Calendars
How it worked: In the lead up to Christmas, all 16 classes from reception to Year 6 came up with their own versions of a Kindness Advent Calendar, to encourage them to think about a little thing they could do each day to be kind. The calendar had a different kind act for the children to do each day – including things to be kind to other people, to themselves and to the environment. Each child also took a copy to have at home.
Top tips from the school: “Try to get the pupils involved at every planning stage and make them as personal as possible. Most classes collaborated to produce a class calendar but one Year 3 class wanted to make theirs personal to themselves so they each produced their own individual calendar.”
